How deep can the crypto market fall?

Alex Kuptsikevich Alex Kuptsikevich 17.12.2021 08:59
The cryptocurrency market capitalisation fell 1.2% over the past 24 hours to $2.21 trillion. The cryptocurrency Fear & Greed Index reacted rather sharply, losing 6 points to 23 and slipping back into extreme fear territory, remaining in the lower half of the scale for over a month.Among the top coins, Solana (+3%) and Tera (+6%) fared best, while Polkadot (-3.8%) Cardano (-3%) fared worst. Bitcoin, which is sensitive to demand from US tech stocks, has lost more than 2% in the past 24 hours to $47.5K. Its rate continues to walk around the 200-day average, reflecting either indecision or a balance of power between buyers and sellers. At the same time, this line itself has reversed downwards, and the RSI on the daily charts remains near the oversold area. Both of these indicators point to a possible failure of the price shortly. A bearish scenario could bring bitcoin back to 40K or even 30K fairly quickly if we see another episode of margin liquidation. Large long-term buyers are unlikely to return before the price drops to $20K. Further evidence that the bears own the initiative in cryptocurrencies - ETHUSD is holding below $4000, confirming the shift from a rising to a downtrend in the last month. Should the sell-off intensify, potential buyers of Ether should look to $3350. The rally started from this level in early October, and now the 200-day moving average is near this mark. A break below it runs the risk of a buyers’ capitulation and would quickly land the rate at $2700. A longer-term bearish target is seen in the $1300-1700 area, where long-term buyers are expected. The realisation of such a bearish scenario would return capitalisation to the $1 trillion area for the entire crypto market. This would be a slightly lesser failure than the top two currencies, as we believe that long-term investors are still looking for other projects outside of the two oldest currencies.Market Analyst live on the youtube channel.
BTCUSD Moving Down In General, ETHUSD Not So Far From November Tops

BTCUSD Moving Down In General, ETHUSD Not So Far From November Tops

Alex Kuptsikevich Alex Kuptsikevich 17.01.2022 08:33
The Cryptocurrency Fear and Greed Index has been cruising between 21-23 for the past seven days - in the extreme fear territory, finding itself in the middle of that range on Monday. Meanwhile, the value of all coins tracked by CoinMarketCap fell 0.5% in the last 24 hours to $2.05 trillion. By and large, a sideways range, $2.0-$2.1 trillion, has also been prevalent here for the past seven days, marking a lull in bull and bear fighting. It remains to be seen whether this signifies fatigue from the past months' turbulent moves or preparations for a new strong momentum. The local victory is on the bears' side, dominating the top coins now, where losses range from -0.8% for Bitcoin to -5.7% for Polkadot over the last 24 hours. Bitcoin failed to build on last week's upside momentum and is back in the $41-42K consolidation area, approaching it from above. A decline from these levels in the coming days will be a development of the downtrend since November, reversing the BTCUSD from the upper boundary of the downtrend channel. A bearish scenario suggests a dip towards $31K by the end of this week to close the July gap. But the door for such a decline will only open after the bulls surrender the $40K level they managed to hold in September and earlier in January. Ether has also encountered a sell-off in its attempts to rise above $3.3K. The 200-day moving average level is now acting as significant resistance. Bitcoin and Ether, which have a combined capitalisation of almost 60% of all cryptocurrencies, show worryingly negative dynamics. At the same time, their share has been declining since late last year. We are seeing either a shift in investor attitudes towards the sector leaders or certain inertia of altcoins compared to the flagships. Right now, it seems that crypto enthusiasts are not at all opposed to the changing landscape. However, as is often the case in nature, such changes rarely go smoothly.
Polkadot price to present buying opportunity before 35% breakout

Polkadot price to present buying opportunity before 35% breakout

FXStreet News FXStreet News 18.01.2022 16:05
Polkadot's price action attempted to break above $30 but stopped in its tracks. DOT price action is now on the back foot again, with investors waiting for the right moment to re-enter. The green ascending trend line that currently comes in around $22.50 would be a perfect entry point for a bounce towards $30. Polkadot price is retreading water as bulls cannot defend $25.19, and price returns to the lower levels of 2022. Investors have no incentive for the moment for any aggressive entries as global market sentiment is weighing on price action. Expect investors to hold for both a shift in sentiment and a test on the longer-term green ascending trend line that currently quotes around $22.36 before popping back up towards $30. Polkadot price action needs to give a little to gain big Polkadot price had issues reaching $30 as bulls were stopped in their tracks even before hitting $29.12, a less critical resistance level. Since then bears have used the turn in market sentiment to risk-off, to enter DOT price and run prices to the downside. But bulls are not far away and are patiently watching to enter – possibly at the green ascending trend line – for a bounce. That longer-term green ascending trend line has proven its importance in the past on multiple occasions throughout 2021. Even a break below it would not be so bad, as around $20.51 support kicks in from a historical support level and the monthly S1 support level. These comprise two solid entry levels for bulls to engage in price action to be part of the market when sentiment reverts to risk on and pushes higher. DOT/USD daily chart Although markets are on the back foot, long equities and risk-on are looming beneath the surface and could quickly emerge. This would add to tailwinds in cryptocurrencies and see a quick reversal in price action. This time expect the $30 to be tested, as the monthly pivot and the 200-day Simple Moving Average will trigger profit-taking. With the uptick, the 55-day SMA could be crossing back above the 200-day SMA, making it a golden cross, a strong signal of more upside for traders, which could ramp up price action even more, towards $37.
Polkadot (DOT) Explained - A Pinch Of Origins And History

Polkadot Price +2.3%, LUNA Price -7.4%, ETH Price 1.1% and BTC -0.6%

Alex Kuptsikevich Alex Kuptsikevich 26.01.2022 09:33
Bitcoin decreased 0.6% on Tuesday, ending the day around $36,600 while Ethereum lost 1.1%. Other leading altcoins from the top ten showed mixed dynamics: from a 7.4% decline of Terra to a 2.3% rise of Polkadot. According to CoinGecko, the total capitalization of the crypto market sank 1.1% to $1.74 trillion over the past day. In total, the crypto market broke the recent days' decline after bitcoin hit lows of the last six months on Monday, dropping below $33,000. This was followed by a sharp rebound upwards to $37,500. The US market was the reason. Throughout January, stocks are falling in anticipation of the Fed's monetary policy tightening. The decline in risky assets also had a negative impact on bitcoin, which has already lost about 20% since the beginning of the month. A correlation between the benchmark cryptocurrency and Nasdaq has reached a new all-time high, according to Bloomberg. On Wednesday, all the attention will be riveted to the FOMC meeting. If the regulator tightens its rhetoric and announces the upcoming rate hike as early as March, all risky assets, including cryptocurrencies, could suffer significantly. Meanwhile, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has urged El Salvador to move away from bitcoin as a legal currency. MicroStrategy has stated that it would continue to buy BTC despite its decline in recent months. Its worth noting that a week ago, crypto funds recorded the first inflow of funds into their assets in the last six weeks.

Polkadot (DOT) Explained - A Pinch Of Origins And History

Binance Academy Binance Academy 15.02.2022 14:19
TL;DR Polkadot positions itself as the next-generation blockchain protocol, capable of connecting multiple specialized chains into one universal network. With a strong focus on building infrastructure for Web 3.0 – and founded by the Web3 Foundation – Polkadot aims to disrupt Internet monopolies and empower individual users.  Learn more on Binance.com   Introduction Blockchain has been around since the inception of Bitcoin. While it has been called a groundbreaking technology, there are also certain drawbacks to take into account. Individual blockchains are unable to communicate with another. Introducing interoperability between different chains could lead to the exchange of data, and ultimately more powerful applications and services. Developers have tried to "bridge" blockchains in the past. Doing so allows chain A to work with chain B and vice versa. However, connecting many (think hundreds or thousands) blockchains at the same time remains a pressing issue. Polkadot's team, and by extension, the Web3 Foundation, is confident that an elegant solution can be created over the coming years.   What is Polkadot? Described as an open-source protocol built for everyone, Polkadot claims to be the next step in the evolution of blockchain technology. It’s a concept initially envisioned by Dr. Gavin Wood, co-founder of Ethereum. The team wants to focus its efforts on security, scalability, and innovation. To do so, the necessary infrastructure needs to be created to not only support new ideas and concepts but also ensure that proper interoperability can be achieved. An individual blockchain in the Polkadot ecosystem is called a parachain (parallel blockchain), while the main chain is called the Relay Chain. The idea is that parachains and the Relay Chain can easily exchange information at all times. You could think of parachains as being similar to individual shards in the planned implementation of ETH 2.0. Any developer, company, or individual can spin up their custom parachain through Substrate, a framework for creating cryptocurrencies and decentralized systems. Once the custom chain is connected to the Polkadot network, it becomes interoperable with all other parachains on the network.  Building cross-chain applications, products, and services should become a lot more straightforward with this design. Cross-blockchain transfers of either data or assets have not been possible on a large scale before. Securing and validating the data across these different parachains is done through network validators, where a small set of these validators can secure multiple parachains. These validators will also ensure transactions can be spread across multiple parachains to improve scalability.   The benefits of Polkadot There can be many reasons for developers to explore the Polkadot ecosystem. Due to the limited nature of current blockchains, it’s evident there are a few core issues to address: scaling, customization, interoperability, governance, and upgradeability. On the scaling front, Polkadot checks a lot of boxes. It acts as a multichain network, allowing it to process transfers in parallel across different individual chains. This removes one of the biggest roadblocks associated with blockchain technology today. Parallel processing is a significant improvement and can pave the way for broader global blockchain adoption. Those who seek out customization can tap into some other features provided by Polkadot. As of now, there is no "one blockchain infrastructure to rule them all". Every project has its individual needs and requirements, and Polkadot allows every individual chain to have its design optimized for that specific functionality. With the help of Substrate, developers can efficiently adapt their individual chains to suit the needs of the project. On the interoperability front, having projects and applications share data seamlessly is a big factor. While it remains to be seen what type of products and services this will create, there are many possible use cases. It can create an entirely new financial ecosystem, with every individual parachain taking care of one particular aspect at a time. Any community associated with a specific parachain will be able to govern their network as they see fit. Moreover, all communities are crucial to the future governance of Polkadot as a whole. Gathering feedback from the community can yield valuable insights that evolve projects over time. Also, Polkadot makes it very easy to upgrade individual parachains. There is no need for hard forks, as this can splinter communities. Instead, the native chain can be upgraded in a frictionless manner.   The DOT token explained Similar to most other blockchain infrastructure projects, Polkadot has its own native token. Known as DOT, it serves as the network token, just like ETH is the token for Ethereum and BTC is the token of Bitcoin. Several use cases exist for this token. First of all, it grants token holders with governance rights of the entire Polkadot platform. This includes determining network fees, voting on overall network upgrades, and the deployment or removal of parachains. DOT is also designed to facilitate network consensus through staking. Similar to other networks that involve staking, all DOT holders are incentivized to play by the rules at all times. How come? Well, if they don’t, they could lose their stake. The third option is to use DOT for bonding. This is required when new parachains are added to the Polkadot ecosystem. During a bonding period, the bonded DOT is locked. It’s released once the bond duration has ended and the parachain is removed from the ecosystem.    Staking and bonding on Polkadot Polkadot's approach to interoperability goes well beyond just the exchange of data and assets. It is also a way to introduce new concepts, such as incentivizing honest token staking and bonding tokens. Staking tokens on a blockchain network is not a new concept. Known as Proof of Stake (PoS), this consensus model works by rewarding users for staking coins on the network. With Polkadot, honest stakers are rewarded, while bad actors can lose their entire stake. As we’ve mentioned, every new parachain is added by bonding DOT tokens. Bonding refers to committing tokens to the network for a specific period of time. Chains that aren’t useful or projects that are no longer maintained will be removed, and their bonded tokens returned.   Closing thoughts On paper, there are many things that can make Polkadot attractive to developers. It’s an ecosystem capable of catering to individual coders, as well as small businesses and large corporations. Being able to deploy custom blockchains to suit specific needs, and upgrade them without hassle is a novel concept that could be valuable for the entire crypto space. That being said, Polkadot remains a very young ecosystem. While dozens of projects may be under development, it will take some time until the first big projects launch. According to PolkaProject, there are hundreds of projects being developed, spanning from wallets to infrastructure projects, tooling, DApps, and more. As far as DOT is concerned, the Polkadot creators have claimed this is not a token designed for speculation. Although it has a monetary value on exchanges, it’s primarily designed for the purposes outlined above. Got more questions about Polkadot and blockchain? Polkadot (DOT) Explained - A Pinch Of Origins And History

Polkadot price to revisit $22 as DOT establishes a launchpad

FXStreet News FXStreet News 25.02.2022 16:18
Polkadot price retests the three-day demand zone, extending from $10.37 to $15.66, anticipating a bounce. A quick run-up would allow DOT to retest two hurdles - $15.97 and $22.23. A decisive close below $10.37 will invalidate the bullish thesis. Polkadot price has arrived at a stable support level after crashing violently and falling since November 2021. A retest of this level is likely to result in a swift bounce that triggers a quick uptrend. Polkadot price contemplates reversal Polkadot price has crashed 73% from its all-time high at $53.50 on November 9, 2021. This downswing has now arrived at the three-day demand zone, extending from $10.37 to $15.66. Investors can expect a quick relief rally to emerge as DOT bounces off this barrier. The altcoin will face the $18.01 hurdle after rallying roughly 12% from its opening price. Clearing this blockade is crucial to making a run for the $20 psychological level. There may be an outcome where DOT could set a local top here. However, if bulls band together, there could be an extension of the uptrend to $22.23. This move would constitute a 40% ascent from the current position - $16 and is likely where the local top will form for Polkadot price. DOT/USDT 3-day chart On the other hand, if Polkadot price fails to bounce off the $10.37 to $15.66 demand zone, it will explore lower levels. As long as DOT stays inside this area, the bullish outlook will not face any threats. A daily or a three-day candlestick close below $10.37, however, will invalidate the possibility of a bullish outlook and indicate that Polkadot price is likely to retest $10.09 or the subsequent barrier at $8.31.

A Deep Look Into Terra Altcoin. Terra - Leading Decentralised And Open-Source Public Blockchain Protocol  What is the Polkadot protocol? Polkadot is an open-source protocol built for everyone, it is founded by the Web3 foundation. The Web3 foundation has commissioned 5 teams and over 100 developers to build Polkadot. The Polkadot mission is: they envision a Web where their data and identity is their own and where safety is ensured from any central authority. Polkadot supports the ease of creating and connecting decentralised applications, institutions and services. Through empowerment of investors to build better solutions, they are seeking to free society from the grip of a broken web whereby institutions have the chance to break trust. The aim of Polkadot is to enable a completely decentralised web whereby the users are incontrol. The protocol is built to connect private and consortium chains, oracles, public and permissionless networks and future technologies that are yet to be created. Polkadot protocol offers parachain messaging, this refers to parachain-to-parachain communication, this is Polkadots version of inoperability. DOT plays an active role in securing the Polkadot network. The DOT token has around $8.3 billion in market capitalization, a circulating supply of more than 1.6 billion tokens and does not have a maximum supply. Polkadot features: True interoperability: Polkadot allows cross-chain transfers of any type of asset or data, users are not limited to token only transfers. When users become a part of the Polkadot network, they open themselves up to a wide variety of blockchain networks. Economic and transactional scalability: unprecedented scalability is provided by Polkadot through the enablement of a common set of validators which have the ability to secure multiple blockchains. Transactional scalability is provided through spreading transactions across multiple parallel blockchains. Easy blockchain innovation: users can create a custom blockchain quickly by using the substrate framework. Once users make their own blockchain, they can connect it to Polkadot and get interoperability and security from the get-go. This ease of development is a major factor helping the Polkadot network grow. Security: Polkadots novel data validity and ability allows the interaction between chains, whilst maintaining independence in their governance but united in their security. User-driven governance: Polkadot maintains a sophisticated governance system, whereby all stakeholders have a say. Network upgrades are coordinated on-chain and autonomously without forking the network. This ensures that Polkadots development remains community-driven and future proof. Advantages of Polkadot: High energy efficiency: in comparison to conventional blockchains, the energy consumed by Polkadot is much less. This energy efficiency is as a result of its next-generation nominated proof-of-stake (NPoS) model. This NPoS uses the equivalent of 6.6 Us households' energy per year. The Polkadot platform has the lowest carbon footprint amongst proof-of-stake protocols analysed in recent research. High security The proof-of-stake network refers to the ability of cryptocurrency owners to validate block transactions based on the number of coins a validator stakes. About the DOT Token: The DOT token was created by the Polkadot protocol and is designed to serve 3 distinct purposes: Governance: the Polkadot token holders have full control over the protocol. The privileges on platforms that are normally only available to minors are given to DOT holders, including managing exceptional events such as protocol upgrades and fixes. Staking: Polkadot uses game theory to incentivise token holders to behave honestly. Those who do not exercise honest behaviour will lose their stake in the network, whereas those who exercise honest behaviour are rewarded by the game theory mechanism. Bonding: new para-chains are added by bonding tokens. Outdated parachains or those that are no longer useful and removed by removing bonded tokens. This bonding represents a proof-of-stake. Where to buy Polkadot (DOT) The DOT token is currently available on many of the major platforms such as Binance, Huobi Global, OKEx, Coinbase, KuCoin and more. Past, Present and Future Prices: We already know that the cryptocurrency market is volatile, this is reflected in the chart below. In the past the price has jumped up and down, with the data it is hard to read a trend for the price of DOT. Currently, the global market conditions have investors turning away from risky assets such as cryptocurrencies, and turning to safer assets. For the future, the price of the DOT token is expected to increase, with some analysts expecting the price to reach over $64 in 5 years time. However, given the volatility in the crypto market, it is difficult to make an accurate assumption on where the price of DOT will go. While the figure varies, the popular opinion remains that the future is bullish for Polkadot (DOT). One of the entities that gave a Polkadot price prediction is Rekt Capital. Rekt Capital first alluded to the price situation of Polkadot (DOT), reflecting on the October downside reversal. According to Rekt Capital, the four bullish candles that followed in November indicate that DOT is bullish and will remain bullish in December. In his Polkadot price prediction, Crypto Tony, another commentator, noted that DOT has a short-term bullish outlook. He asserted that overcoming resistance at the $5.50 region will see DOT rallying to $10. Polkadot is exchanging hands at $5.16, dropping 4.80% from $5.43 to $5.16 between November 20 and November 22. Based on Crypto Tony’s Polkadot price forecast, DOT requires a 93.79% increase to hit the predicted level. Kinto Onboard Arbitrum Kinto, Ethereum’s Layer 2 solution, has transitioned to the Arbitrum ecosystem utilizing the Arbitrum Nitro technology stack. This move comes after launching its testnet with Optimism’s OP Stack in May. Kinto announced this strategic move on November 22 via its official website. Changes in the Arbitrum ecosystem structure brought about this migration. The idea was to enable the Arbitrum Foundation to manage layer-2 deployment independently. Kinto seeks to serve as a bridge between traditional finance and decentralized finance. In response, Arbitrum (ARB) continued declining from the previous week. ARB decreased from $1.15 to $1.04 between November 13 and November 19, marking a 9.51% decrease in the Arbitrum price. Based on ARB’s outlook, experts shared their Arbitrum price prediction. They expect ARB to fall below the $1 threshold in the coming days as sellers continue to offload. This ARB projection will see the Arbitrum price drop by 1.2% from the current price of $1.02.     Learn more about the VC Spectra presale here: Presale: https://invest.vcspectra.io/login Website: https://vcspectra.io  Telegram: https://t.me/VCSpectra Twitter: https://twitter.com/spectravcfund
